Lessons from Local Leaders:
Tazeen Qdz, Iqra Malik and Nina Ahmed
TheBeyond the Transaction: The Heart-Driven Real Estate of Home Lab
In the competitive world of DMV real estate, Tazeen Qudsi, Iqra Malik, and Nina Ahmed are not just closing deals—they are building a movement based on radical trust, obsessive client care, and unwavering community support. This is the story of Home Lab, a team that believes buying or selling a home should feel so seamless, the client can go through the entire process “with their eyes closed.”
A Triumphant Trio: The Home Lab Alignment
Tazeen Qudsi, the founder, risked everything in 2021 to go full-time in real estate, having navigated the industry for years, often “the wrong way.” But it wasn’t until early this year, when she teamed up with Iqra Malik and Nina Ahmed, that the true vision of Home Lab crystallized.
Iqra, a longtime friend and agent, immediately recognized their shared alignment. “Our values, how we see clients, the entire client experience… we just hit it off,” she explains. Nina, a younger agent, sees the team as invaluable role models. “Their past experiences or like the mistakes that they have made are like examples for me,” she says, leveraging their wisdom to better guide first-time homebuyers.
Their differences—in age, perspective, and background—are the foundation of their collaborative strength, creating a cohesive unit built on mutual trust.
Obsessing Over the Client Experience
The core of Home Lab’s success is their commitment to the client experience. For them, this level of trust isn’t a slogan; it’s a meticulously crafted system.
“We literally put ourselves in those shoes, in the shoes of the client,” Tazeen shares. “We literally have a storyboarding like strategy session around that client. We figure out what they need specifically and… we treat them like family.”
This dedication means they are constantly refining their processes. They meet consistently to anticipate issues, curating a vendor network (from title companies to inspectors) held to the highest standard of client care. This approach often leads to surprised clients at the closing table: “Wow, that was so easy,” a comment that belies the team’s behind-the-scenes effort.
Nina brought this to life with a story about her nail tech’s mother, who had been ghosted by a previous realtor. With Home Lab’s clear, guiding process, the daughter secured her pre-approval and was looking at homes within a week. “I didn’t think I could ever have like something of my own,” the client shared. For the Home Lab team, that moment—providing independence and ownership—is the true measure of their impact.
Real Estate as a Platform for Purpose
Home Lab’s mission extends far beyond the sale. Built on a shared commitment to philanthropy, the team donates a portion of every commission to local and international charities.
Crucially, Tazeen is formalizing this giving spirit by launching a non-profit in 2026 dedicated to helping women build financial independence. This initiative is deeply personal, stemming from her own experience overcoming cancer, the loss of a child, and an abusive marriage. Because she was financially independent, she was able to escape a bad situation.
“It’s about paying it forward and showing other people that path,” Tazeen says. “It’s simple enough that anyone can do it.”
Iqra noted that hearing Tazeen’s story was the very reason she reached out to connect, demonstrating how vulnerability and transparency can serve as a catalyst for powerful collaboration.
Building Community, One Win at a Time
Home Lab also actively nurtures community through connection, hosting events like the Tysons Networking event for other entrepreneurs. Even more impactful is their weekly Gratitude and Win Circle, a ritual they have now opened to the public every Tuesday morning at 10:30 AM.
“We’ve watched people just like their face lights up when they’re sharing their wins,” Iqra notes.
This practice of sharing gratitude and celebrating victories—whether big or small—reflects the team’s philosophy that success begins with positive energy and a supportive network. As they look ahead to 2026, the team aims for 34 transactions, recognizing their wide influence and capacity for growth.
For anyone considering a move, the message from Home Lab is clear: It’s not as scary as you think. “We’re here to provide support from beginning till end and even after,” Iqra encourages. “Just start the conversation.”
