You’re a hustler. You’ve got your website, your email lists, and you’re going from networking event to networking event to get your name out there and connect with people. Which, can be exhausting. But that’s the name of the game, right? Wrong. Yes networking is important, but what if I told you there was a better way?
Your current networking ratio is 1:1, when it could be 1:1000. You might go to a few networking events a week and connect with 10 people that week, when you could be reaching and connecting with 500 people in 20 minutes from the comfort of your couch.
Ok, ok, sounds great, right? But what am I really talking about? I’m talking about video marketing. Videos are huge right now across all social media platforms, and for good reason. Using video to share who you are, what you do, how you do it, and why you do it, is one of the best ways to have your ideal clients knocking on your door (not literally, the metaphorical door that leads to business, of course) and helps you find your tribe of people who will help lead you to success. This is because videos will draw in the people that have values that align with yours and the ones that connect with your brand.
Okay, so we established videos are awesome, but what if you don’t have a whole production crew in your contacts? There a lot of places to start, but Facebook or Instagram Live is one of the best. Going live can be nerve wrecking, but they’re a great way to build up your on-camera confidence while also growing your audience. Lives give your audience an opportunity to engage with you and you can use it to make a big announcement, teach/demonstrate something, or simply just get your message out there while still holding that personal 1:1 feel. You can do them as a weekly series, which keeps your audience knowing when to expect you, or you can announce them as “Live Events” when you have something exciting you want to share.
Networking events are still important and valuable for that in-person conversation, but you can say a lot with a video. If you’d like to use to start implementing video into your marketing strategy, sign up & download our video strategy guide here.
