Leo Anzoleaga: Building Intentional Homeownership and Leadership Through the Mortgage Industry
For more than two decades, Leo Anzoleaga has been a driving force in the mortgage industry. As the operator of the Anzoleaga Group at Luminate Bank, Leo’s career journey is a testament to perseverance, intentionality, and leadership rooted in values.
Leo’s introduction to the mortgage industry was almost accidental. In 2003, a childhood friend encouraged him to explore the business, even as Leo initially dismissed it as another “pyramid scheme.” But after witnessing his friend’s success at just 19 years old, Leo took a leap of faith. That leap became the greatest “trip” of his professional life.
By 2007, the industry faced the devastating liquidity crisis. Many professionals left, but Leo chose a different path—he doubled down. With the guidance of a mentor and the wisdom found in books like High Trust Selling and insights from Barry Habib, Leo rebuilt his career “brick by brick,” focusing on preparation, resilience, and client-centered service.
Today, Leo champions a philosophy of intentional homeownership. To him, buying a home should never be accidental—it should be the result of careful planning before, during, and after the transaction. His team offers concierge-style post-closing support, ensuring clients are guided through every step of homeownership, long after the keys are handed over.
At the heart of his business are three core promises:
- The Best Price – Transparent and competitive rates.
- The Best Advice – Bespoke mortgage planning as part of a client’s broader financial goals.
- The Best Client Experience – A proven, Ritz-Carlton–inspired “Excellent Loan Process” refined over years.
Beyond mortgages, Leo is passionate about leadership and community. He has created initiatives like Leo Circle and The How To Collective, fostering collaboration and growth across industries. Inspired by his mother’s teaching—“Tell me who you surround yourself with, and I’ll tell you who you are”—Leo emphasizes surrounding himself and his team with excellence.
For Leo, legacy means more than closing loans. It’s about being remembered as a dedicated husband, father, mentor, and man of faith. As he often says, “I’m not a businessman with a family; I’m a family man with a business.” Through his values, service, and leadership, Leo is redefining what it means to serve clients and build community in the mortgage world.
